The High Court will not intervene in demand for Mamata’s resignation!

“The entire state is in turmoil protesting the rape and murder of a doctor in Kolkata! Moumita was raped and murdered last week! Protests began immediately after this incident. In continuation of this, the opposition party in Kolkata calls for Mamata Banerjee’s resignation.

Following this incident, the Calcutta High Court has announced that it will not intervene to stop the students’ ‘march’ to Nabanna, the state secretariat of West Bengal.

As a result, there will be no legal obstacles to the ‘Student Community’s’ call for Mamata’s resignation in the Nabanna march next Tuesday.

A case was filed in the High Court requesting to stop the Nabanna march. After the hearing on Saturday, the bench of Justice Harish Tandon and Justice Hiranmay Bhattacharya stated, “The High Court will not intervene in this matter!”

However, the High Court has directed to submit answers through affidavits on why this march should be stopped and what the law says. The next hearing of the case will reportedly be after 28 days.

The state is in turmoil with a single demand for Mamata’s resignation following the incident of rape and murder of female doctor Moumita at R.G. Kar Hospital in Kolkata! A group of non-political students from various educational institutions in the state has called for this march.

On the morning of August 9, the issue of the rape and murder of female doctor Moumita came to light in the seminar room on the fourth floor of the hospital. The investigators have not yet been able to identify the main culprits of this incident.

Support for this march has also come from various political parties. Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly and BJP MLA, supported the Nabanna march saying, “Mamata should resign immediately, taking responsibility for the rape and murder of female doctor Moumita. Because the people of the state have understood that Mamata is trying to cover up the incident of rape and murder of female doctor Moumita! Therefore, the demand for Mamata’s resignation has become stronger.”

The student community has said that Mamata must resign by tomorrow, Monday. Otherwise, they will force her to resign by marching to Nabanna the next day.

As previously announced, students will gather at College Square in Kolkata and Santragachi in Howrah around 12 noon on Tuesday. Then around 2 PM, they will march towards Nabanna. They will go to Nabanna peacefully. The police have taken adequate measures to ensure that no law and order situation deteriorates surrounding the march.

Yesterday too, Kolkata was in turmoil with protest marches. These marches demanded immediate identification and punishment of those involved in the rape and murder of the female doctor. At the same time, Chief Minister Mamata’s resignation was demanded.”
